Cheap Digital Cameras - Affordable Hi-Tech Photography

Generally digital cameras are pricey, but there are decent cheap digital cameras. It just takes a little persistence finding them. Most models priced under about $75 are mere novelties and not really very usable. But from about $80 to $125 there's quite a selection of reliable cameras with a fair range of features.

The Ultimate Cheap - Disposable

One time use cameras start around $10. Unlike their film counterparts, these cameras are not throw-away. After taking about 25 photos you return it to the retailer who prints the pictures and a photo CD. The camera is then "refurbished" to be used again. Usually if you take a bad shot you can delete it, ensuring you get a couple dozen photos you really want.

Super Cheap Brands

Even though digital camera prices start as cheap as $20, image and camera quality are marginal at best. Companies like DXG, Concord, Mustek and Oregon Scientific offer several digital camera models in the $40 to $90 range. But be aware that some of these cameras have received absolutely terrible ratings. That doesn't mean they're all bad - and these companies offer better, higher priced cameras as well. Compare carefully before buying.

Inexpensive Rather Than Cheap

Some good digital camera values appear as prices approach $100. For best performance a camera should have at least 3.0 megapixels, optical zoom, basic scene modes and similar features. Entry level digital cameras like this from Canon, Fujifilm, Kodak, Olympus and other manufacturers are available from around $90 to less than $150. One way to save money and get a feature-rich quality camera is to look for factory refurbished digital cameras. These cameras are often priced 40% to 50% below regular prices.

Affordable Digital Cameras - Tips For Buying a Digital Camera You Can Afford

Being an intelligent shopper is helpful, but if you are looking for affordable digital cameras it is very important to be a smart shopper. If you pay attention, you will notice that affordable electronics tend to follow a similar trend. When new electronics come out they are usually very expensive, but after six to eight months the price drops. This is exactly the same situation with affordable digital cameras. I remember when I purchased my first digital camera, because it cost me a lot of money and the picture it took was comparable to today's cell phone cameras. A year latter I could have bought the same camera for a fraction of the original price.

Today. if you're a clever shopper, you will be able to get an affordable digital camera well within a price range you can afford. Many people begin by checking out the used cameras that are available. This a very good option, but only if you know a thing or two about the camera you want. You will need to know enough about cameras to make sure everything is in good working order. However, if you only have limited knowledge about digital cameras, you could end up with more problems than you first thought. Buying a very expensive camera for a hundred bucks is not a good bargain if it winds up being a lemon!

If you are looking for a quality camera at a fair price, you don't always have to buy a used camera. The real trick to getting an affordable digital camera is to be able to sort through all hype and understand exactly what you want and need.

One example is your resolution. A high resolution digital image is great, but your cameras resolution only has to be so high. If you plan on taking standard photos, a normal resolution is fine. You will only need a high resolution if you plan on editing you pictures such as blowing them up or reprocessing them.

Take a close look at some of the crazy features these digital cameras offer, because you may not need all of them. A lot of these new features will cost you a lot of money and most of them don't add much to the quality of the pictures you are taking. You can always add most of these features on latter if you decide you need them.

However, there are certain things you should never compromise. When you are ready to buy your affordable digital camera, make sure you buy it from an established company that provides you with a solid warranty. Also, make sure the digital camera you buy has enough memory to handle all the pictures you want to take.

By following the advice above, you will find an affordable digital camera that you will enjoy for years to come.

The Most Affordable Digital Camera Anywhere

If your looking for the most affordable digital camera, does that mean your looking for the cheapest camera you can find? I tend to think not. If you wanted cheap, you would have said cheap. Affordable suggests, you have some kind of budget in mind. I would assume that it's probably a small budget, but a budget none the less. For around $150 you can get a pretty respectable digital camera. But that may be a bit high, so lets start at $150 and work our way down. You may be surprised at what we find.

In the $100 to $150 range, were able to find some very good cameras with a smidgen of the latest technology thrown in. Image stabilization and face recognition are great features to have for this price. The image quality here will be far better than anything your cell phone camera can do, and a vast improvement over disposable cameras. The Canon PowerShot A570IS would be my first choice, as well as many others judging by it's inclusion on the best seller list on some of the big online camera retailers. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7K and several of the Kodak EasyShare models can be found in this category as well.

The $50 to $100 range is getting quite affordable for anyone, but there are sacrifices to be made in image quality and features. The Kodak EasyShare C613 still has a respectable 6.2MP and 3x zoom. A perennial best seller, and backed by one of the oldest camera manufacturers in the business. The Nikon Coolpix L11, and Canon Powershot A460 are worthy contenders to look at here as well.

Buying a decent new digital camera (that's not a toy) for under $50 is pretty much impossible these days. Prices have dropped quite a bit, but not that low. The good news, is that if your willing to look into used cameras you can find plenty of great deals. The usual auction sites will have lots, but some of the bigger online retailers carry used cameras as well. Just make sure their return policy is good, before buying anything used.

The most affordable digital camera, is of course the one you already own. Pretty much the only cost associated with that one is batteries. Since so few people develop a lot of pictures these days, even developing costs are hardly worth mentioning. Don't ignore any used and discontinued cameras you may find. With so many new cameras coming out every day, there are plenty of good deals to be found as people sell of their old ones.
